There is no one in the world I would rather do life with than my wife Lauren.
Hobbies:Being with Lauren is awesome. I love being outside exploring creation where I see the handiwork of God: whether it's biking, hiking or mountain climbing. I also enjoy sports: watching or playing, working out, traveling to see new places, and reading a good book.
Jenny Torgerson - Children's Director
Vision:My vision is to see kids excited to come to church and learn about God's love for them in a safe atmosphere of fun and fellowship, to see them desire to follow Christ and to help them build a foundation of faith that will serve them through a lifetime of ministry.
Previous work/experience: While waiting for God's call into full-time ministry, I worked my way through high school and college in a variety of different office jobs. For 19 years I worked at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, starting out as a secretary and eventually specializing in grants administration. It's not a typical background for working in children's ministry, but it has provided excellent administrative experience that has come in handy when organizing VBS, harvest parties, Christmas programs, and scheduling teachers and helpers.
Education:I started with an Associate in Technical Arts degree from Everett Community college and then went back to the University of Washington to complete a BA in Zoology.
Family:As the oldest of five siblings, I take great joy in vying for "favorite aunt" status to my 4 nieces and nephews. My mother lives in Everett and most of the family lives in the surrounding areas. Thus we are able to maintain close contact with each other.
Hobbies:Give me a needle and thread, and I can spend hours sewing, quilting, or cross stitching. I also enjoy looking for and re-using or re-purposing finds from antique malls and thrift stores.
